Things I did not understand before
Very long time back, I wrote something to the effect that there are two types of programmers. The first type of programmer programs for the layman and the second type of programmer programs for the programmer. The second type pushes the envelop of information technology and the first type only makes it easier for layman to use technology. I idolized the second type back in university and looked down on the first type. In fact, I felt it was unfair the second type is lesser paid than the first type. After a few years of work experience, I think the other way. I think it is more difficult to be a first type rather than a second type and the first type actually contributes more in value. As a result, they do deserve their higher salaries.
